Exercise for Health 2026: the prescription of physical exercise as prevention and treatment
22 maggio 2026
Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at the Aula San Raffaele of the IRCCS San Raffaele Hospital in Milan, Exercise for Health returns, the conference dedicated to the role of physical exercise as a fundamental pillar of prevention, therapy, and rehabilitation. Following the success of last year’s edition, the initiative will bring together physicians, researchers, healthcare professionals, and academics for a multidisciplinary day of discussion on the latest developments in Exercise Medicine and on the integration of physical activity into care pathways.
The event, organized in collaboration with the Wellness Foundation, under the patronage of the Order of Physicians and Dentists of Milan, and with the involvement of the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University, was created with the aim of promoting an increasingly integrated approach to health, in which physical exercise is recognized as an essential component of clinical pathways and no longer only as a lifestyle recommendation. In this context, physical activity takes on the role of a true clinical prescription, supported by consolidated and continuously evolving scientific evidence.
Throughout the day, the role of movement across the entire health journey will be explored, from prevention to therapy and rehabilitation, with particular attention to its application in daily clinical practice. The discussion among professionals will focus on how physical exercise can contribute to the prevention of major cardiovascular, metabolic, neurological, and musculoskeletal diseases, its impact on oncology, surgical, and chronic disease pathways, and its cross-cutting value across different stages of life, from childhood to longevity. Ample space will also be dedicated to the integration of scientific research and innovative organizational models, with the aim of promoting the real implementation of Exercise Medicine within healthcare systems.
“Physical exercise must become a stable part of care pathways as a true form of therapy: personalized, measurable, and integrated with other clinical strategies. It is not just about living longer, but about living better, preserving function, autonomy, and quality of life”
